Eric Garner Memorial Caught Fire
Police say the fire was not arson, and was not set intentionally.

Re: Eric Garner Memorial Caught Fire
You're comparing 9/11 to a single roadside memorial. I don't think these roadside memorials are appropriate. Do you really think your loved ones are hanging out in spirit or in memory at the location that they died? Try placing a memorial at a place that he or she loved while they were alive or in a cemetery where they belong. I've seen official "fatality" signs. I like these as they are a good reminder to drive safe, but roadside memorials do nothing but distract and create waste along our highways and or public sidewalks. This is NOT to say that vandalizing these locations are appropriate. |

Re: Eric Garner Memorial Caught Fire
I kinda agree with you. If every road fatality in America had a roadside Memorial, we'd have them lining our roadways everywhere. A property I used to own had a big Memorial in the front yard. It was a big front yard so it was 50 yards from my house. But it got annoying after a year. On the anniversary of the crash and on his birthday there was always more added to it. I swear it made it harder to sell. I had to find his mom and ask her to remove it, luckily she understood and took it down. I allowed her to plant a tree there instead with a small stone with his name.
