Elmo Resigned
Sesame Workshop Says Elmo Actor Kevin Clash Resigned, Calling Sex Allegations 'Distraction' Nov. 20, 2012 NEW YORK (AP) -- Sesame Workshop says Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash has resigned from "Sesame Street" in the wake of allegations that he had sex with an under-age youth. Last week, a man accused Clash of having sex with him when he was a teenage boy, a charge Clash denied. A day later, the man recanted his charge. A lawsuit by a second accuser was filed Tuesday, according to attorney Cecil Singleton. Sesame Workshop called the controversy surrounding Clash's personal life, "a distraction that none of us want", and led to his decision to leave the show. Clash created the voice and persona for Elmo, who has become one of the most popular characters on "Sesame Street." Re: Elmo Resigned
I don't think he should feel he has to leave because of his personal lifestyle. I can't stand Elmo or Baby Sinclair personally, but, alot of children, including those I know personally, really like him. Nobody wins here :( |

Re: Elmo Resigned
i agree! im not a huge Elmo fan but Clash's Elmo is far less annoying then the original Elmo....plus Clash was Master Splinter in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and had parts in the movie Labyrinth. I love performance art and puppetry (when done well) is like stage animation.... almost a real life cartoon. i love it. |

Re: Elmo Resigned
I've never seen either. One of my brothers and his daughter loved Labyrinth. I think you got it. I don't like cartoons most of the time, but, to each his own! Plenty of entertainment out there for all of us! I like Oscar the Grouch though ;) |

Re: Elmo Resigned
Don't you have a child? I thought you mentioned a daughter, if I recall correctly. I took my great niece to see Disney's Rockin' Road Show when she had a crush on Donald Duck. Her eyes got so big when he came out. We were on the front row. It's interesting to watch the children. Even the crawlers were trying to get to the stage, lol! Music affects everyone. We also went to see the Imagination Movers live! I had a blast there! Met them and they were all very nice! Three had lost their homes in the flood in Lousiana. The forth is an EMT/Firefighter and he was helping save people. His home was spared. |
