We're not invading for territory. Maybe due to other reasons sure, usually protecting our interests. But never to gain territory like the British.

I'm reasonably certain that Putins interest isn't in colonizing Crimea. You do have huge military bases in places you've conquered? Iraq, Japan, Germany? There's also the issue of NATO setting up shop on his borders, and general instability next door........ Superpowers don't like that kind of thing. |

A military base is not the same as annexing another country. We don't call Iraq, Japan and Germany all America now do we? They COULD technically be states, but we don't want them.  |

USA imposes its will on the EU and other states to create an embargo to squeeze Russia for protecting ethnic Russians and its military port. Go brush your teeth dirty chav.. If Russia only took back Crimea then the west wouldn't have cared. But they are now going after Eastern Ukraine. The US has invaded many countries to protect it's self interests. Never have any of those times been to gain territory.  |
