Showering Intruder Calls Police for Help after Homeowner Returns

(NewsCore) - An intruder who decided to take a shower in a home he had broken into in Portland, Ore., on Monday night called police after the homeowner returned to the property, saying he feared for his life.

Timothy James Chapek, 24, admitted to emergency dispatchers that he had broken into the house, The Portland Tribune reported.

Police said the homeowner -- accompanied by his two pet German shepherd dogs -- approached Chapek after finding him showering in the bathroom.

Chapek then locked the bathroom door and called 911, telling the dispatcher he needed the police as he feared the homeowner may have a gun.

The clean, but frightened, intruder was taken into custody without incident and was charged with first-degree criminal trespass.
