A drunken wrong-way driver in Southern California slammed head-on into an SUV, killing six people, authorities said.
Olivia Carolee Culbreath, 21, of Fontana faces felony charges of DUI and manslaughter in the fatal collision,

Witnesses claimed Culbreath was driving more than 100 mph, the paper reported.
The crash happened less than an hour before another deadly head-on crash killed five in Florida, marking an ugly morning on American roads.

Culbreath, police said, suffered a broken femur and ruptured bladder in the crash. She was taken to a Los Angeles hospital.

Investigators believe she was driving east in a red Chevrolet Camaro when she smashed into a red Ford Explorer headed the other way on State Route 60.
At least two people were ejected. Four died at the scene and two more died at a nearby hospital.

The 4:40 a.m. crash shut down the roadway through the lunch hour as investigators studied the scene.
They “believe from what they found in the vehicle that alcohol was involved,” Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office told the Los Angeles Times.
The names of the victims had not been released.
In Florida, four fraternity brothers were killed in a fiery head-on collision with Ford Expedition, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The driver of the SUV also died.
