Doctors in Mexico say they have successfully removed a 15kg benign tumour which weighed more than its two-year-old carrier.
Jesus Rodriguez, from the northern state of Durango, was born with the lump that covered the right side of his body from underneath his arm to his hip.
It took doctors at the La Raza Medical Centre in Mexico City 10 hours to perform the surgery and remove the growth.
Dr Gustavo Hernandez, director of paediatrics, said the toddler was doing well following the operation earlier this month.
He added it was the first time Mexican doctors had removed a tumour bigger than the person carrying it.
Jesus weighs 12kg - several kilos less than the tumour itself.
