Doc Ordered to Pay Support in Botched Abortion
Not only deadbeat dads are forced to fork over child support. In a landmark case, an unnamed Spanish doctor has been ordered to pay the monthly upkeep for a baby he failed to terminate in a botched abortion. The 24-year-old mother believed she'd had a successful abortion in the Palma de Mallorca clinic, and the doctor even confirmed the termination with an additional scan. But months later, a new scan revealed she was, in fact, six months pregnant with the original baby -- well beyond the 22-week limit for legal abortions in Spain. A judge has ordered the bumbling doc to pay $1,250 per month until the boy is 25 years old, plus $188,000 in damages. |

child support till age 25? wtf? so when he graduates from college, his mother will still be getting $$ for his failed abortion.

I've never been pregnant, but, as the baby grows inside you, I know they kick and and you feel them moving, besides the weight gain. This woman must have felt it! "Yes, son, we didn't want you so you get to buy whatever you want!" |

LOL good. there should be no excuse for botching an abortion or any other medical procedure. the amount of money is fair, especially considering the baby was likely aborted for financial reasons like many abortions. there is NO way that doctor just conveniently missed the fetus. this is why after an abortion the parts of the fetus are put back together. if dead fetus parts are still inside, the woman will get an infection.

It doesn't say in the article. Several months later, when too late to legally abort, she found out she was still pregnant. She could have given him up for adoption. I just can't believe she didn't feel anything for several months. The women I know who do have children get sick, tired, have backaches pretty early on. |
