Sadly, he actually did not go through surgery. One of my co workers is a fire fighter, so he had a walkie with him. The cop died at the scene, which is why a helicopter was called and then cancelled. Yesterday was the officers funeral procession through 4 towns. Over 1,000 cops from all over were present. It was pretty solemn.

Officer Myers was shot three times in the back, and once in the back of the head. After he did this, someone ran over to the cop. The shooter apparently walked up to them and then continued walking to his car. Lady came out screaming that that man walking was the shooter.
