Re: December 21st 2012

I skipped all that just to say the Mayans hold three calendars
Ceremonial Calendar [264 Days]
Astronomical Calendar, [365 Days] [pretty accurate huh]
and the one everybody talks about...
The Long Count Calendar, [which is several thousands of years long.]

The controversy is because the Mayans basically predicted their own demise the same year the the Spanish arrive was a predicted coming of the death gods... [that's about right]

They predicted three ages, at the end of each age the world restarts and is destroyed and the last is an age of enlightenment the last age ... but there's no reason the ages have anything to do with the long count calendar, especially because they claim their current "king" when they wrote the prophecy would still be alive, and never is it tied to the calendars, of any of the three.

Re: December 21st 2012

I'll just share my 2 cents

The Mayan calendar didn't predict the end of the end of the world, they just didn't make any more, and then disappeared. They were the most advanced civilization (too advanced for the era) at the time, and then vanished. Just because they didn't make any more calendars DOES NOT mean the world ends that date.

For the first time in 26,000 years, the Earth, Moon, Sun, are alignment together. This is all about a"new age" of Aquarius on the zodiac. Nostradamus also talked about this day in age sending a warning of what could come - storm, earthquake, rain, darkness- and "it's up to us to change on humanity"

Re: December 21st 2012

I like how a lot of people who were worried about 1012, a few being on here that I've come across are going;

-OH LAWDS MAYANS HAD US GOIN!
-Yeah its just a different calendar date
-haha, guess nothing happened *but was prepared to brutally rape the hot next door neighbour*
-Was genuinely worried but is now finding more excuses to be negative

We were supposed to be destroyed at 1:11 PM EET time but now, I'm still alive and kicking! No champagne though, since it's too expensive but having a Bloody Mary sounds a great idea
