De Plane, De Plane!

United Airlines passenger dragged off "overbooked" flight.
According to social media, a doctor trying to return home to his patients was dragged by his hands from an overbooked United Airlines flight. The incident is the carrier's second public relations nightmare in less than a month.

Re: De Plane, De Plane!

All of this because United was kicking passengers off to put their own employees on the plane. Officer is on Administrative leave and United CEO is possibly stepping down.

Re: De Plane, De Plane!

This wasn't an oversold flight, it was the company trying to deadhead a crew! The guy already had a seat on the flight!

There are lots of other options to re-position a crew, rather than drag a customer off of the plane.
Send them on another flt, another airline, charter a small jet, taxi, etc.
This fiasco has certainly cost them more than any of the other possible solutions

Re: De Plane, De Plane!

The following day the CEO is praising employees and the cops, calling the passenger belligerent and disruptive.
And then the wrath of social media!!

Today's words are considerably different!

"The first thing that I think is important to say is to apologize to Dr. Dao, his family, the passengers on that flight, our customers, our employees — that is not who our family at United is," Munoz said. "You saw us at a bad moment, and this can never, will never happen again on a United Airlines flight. That's my premise, and that's my promise."
"No, he can't be," Munoz said when asked whether Dao was at fault in any way. "He was a paying passenger sitting on our seat, in our aircraft, and no one should be treated that way."
