"Doing everything you can" to protect your kids, doesn't include sending them to daycare, where they cannot be individually watched. They will also be under the care of people you probably don't know, and only assume they're safe, because they work at a daycare center.

Single parent families don't have the luxury of a nanny. I applaud those that don't just sit on their arses and use having a kid as an excuse not to earn an honest living.

I don't disagree - but it is a fact of life, that if someone else is raising your kids, they may be in danger.
