not only is it not cool but it's frowned upon socially, especially if it's the man staying home with the kids while the woman works. i get shit from everybody about it.... they are concerned about everything from how my children will develop socially (because they arent with other kids in daycare) to how I'm 'damaging' my children by being there for them all the time (instead of letting strangers watch them). my family has sacrificed a lot so one of us could stay home full time with our kids, so others can say what they want.... i know i dedicate everything i can including the vast majority of my time to my children. i know im doing the right thing. i also grew up in daycare... that alone tells me that i'm doing the right thing. i remember how horrible daycare could be.

We never let our children go to daycare either, Kanda444. Trust me, you won't ever regret that decision. Sacrificing material things for our children's well-being was a no-brainer.

That being said, I have nothing against mothers who work outside the home. If they can make it work, more power to them.

exactly!! the only times they have been babysat was by family... and even that didnt go well... so i dont regret my choices at all. it hasnt been easy but it's been worth it for sure!

i understand and respect other people's choice to use daycare and to have both parents working but it's not the right way of life for my family.
