Crematorium Shoots Human Ashes into Sky in Freak Accident
May 24, 2018 A freak crematorium accident forced the departed to bite the dust twice. Heavy smoke containing human ashes spread through the San Diego air after an emergency Thursday afternoon at the Cortez Family Crematorium in National City, news station KGTV reported. Fire officials said the crematorium’s furnace door wasn’t properly closed, causing remains to spew out of the chimney and open doors. Residents reported that the smog moved east across National City Boulevard toward a shopping center, which is home to a Best Buy and a Walmart, according to KGTV. The building’s fire system was activated which also sent out a potent-smelling gas to neighboring areas. It wasn’t immediately clear if there were health concerns for those who inhaled the smoke.  · |
