Its true...... In Canada they can get to 40 or 50 lbs, with big ol tree chopping teeth.
I was in a rubber boat once and one came towards us, and at the last minute it slapped its tail on the water and went under the boat........ the guy I was fishing with had his knife out and everything ready to fight it off.
