Concrete wall built across motorway at night, guess what happened next? A ‘safety’ wall to protect night-time road workers was erected on a 70mph motorway in China – but drivers had no idea it was there, and the inevitable happened.  It's surprising, obviously, because China has a good pedigree in the wall-building department. But this one was ill-conceived, to say the least. The wall was a perilously sturdy one and measured about five-feet high. However, there were no warning signs or lights to tell drivers zooming along the highway that their path was blocked. Dozens of cars smashed into the wall in Xian, Shaanxi province, western China, which workers astonishingly kept rebuilding after each impact. Now the furious drivers are suing the road officials responsible. One survivor, Zou Tieqin, 42, recounted how he narrowly escaped serious injury. He said: ‘I had my family in the car and I suddenly saw the wall in my headlights. I braked but it was too late and I went straight through. ‘We were saved by our airbags but when we got out of the car we saw lots of other vehicles piling in. Some weren't so lucky. ‘The people responsible cannot get away with this and we are demanding compensation.’ Workers claim that the wall was illuminated, but that the lights were stolen. We’re just wondering what the road officials will do for an encore – perhaps use night-time cover to divert the road to a cliff edge? |

That's retarded. I don't believe those clowns put up any lights. And why didn't they have a sign, oh, say about 1 or 2 kilometers up-road, warning drivers of the wall, and they should take a detour. I'm sure they didn't. Assholes, need to be sued. As usual, good post, Ghost  |

The Chinese government is so fucked. They're like early America, they don't give a shit about their citizens and as a result the country grows like it just took steroids. How do you think the U.S became the strongest country in the world when it was only 200 years old? China is doing the same thing right now.
