College Reject Living Student Insisting He is Dead
Colleges reject living student because they insist he's dead High school senior Corbin Russell has his college applications filled out, an upcoming graduation ceremony to attend and what looks to be a promising future ahead of him. Except for one problem: Records show he is dead. The Nebraska teenager, who is in fact very much alive, has repeatedly had college applications rejected due to an incident two years ago when his Social Security number was used in a death benefit claim for a deceased South Carolina man. Credit agencies and other record-keeping institutions show he is dead, and all three major credit reporting companies say documentation is needed to resolve the issue (though after the news broke, Sen. Mike Johanns was able to help get Russell's Free Application for Student Aid approved). |

He kind of looks like a zombie :) I won the UK Lottery, one in Ireland and am beneficiary to many millions of dollars from Nigeria myself, lol! I love when, "Dateline", busted a couple of scammers. Sadly, I know a woman who fell for the story. The guy actually asked her to marry him and she said she would. She won't disclose how much she lost, but, some people are just rotten to the core! They prey on lonely people! Sad! |

Re: College Reject Living Student Insisting He is Dead
I don't know about Canada and Australian with your tax people. In the US, the IRS finds you. I saw this on a tv court show and it actually happened to me. If a credit card company writes off your debt, the IRS lists it as income and taxes you for it. It can take several years and it's legal here. If they had gotten to me in 2004 when I was working, had the money, and knew about the law, it would have easier to pay it. I got a notice in 2009 or 2010 and I contacted the IRS and told them I never had a mortgage, which is true. They told me they'd investigate and get back to me. Late in 2011, they said I owe twice the amount of the original debt because of interest and not paying for all of those years. I paid the original debt over a few months and am waiting to see how much more they will take! The fuckers! Oh, and I went to a pro bono bankruptcy attorney with whom I signed paperwork, but, he never filed. I forget the year, but, it was around that time. It ended up being my pretty platinum Sony card. |
