Footage has emerged of a man going for a swim in a large fish tank with his clothes on for a bet at a British hotel.

The video shows the man jumping into the 12,000L glass tank as his friends laugh and goad him on at the reception of the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel in Jersey, a British Crown Dependency off the coast of France.

As tropical fish in the tank quickly swim away from the paddling intruder, a hotel employee approaches the group and starts yelling.

"What are you fucking doing? What are you doing that for? Get out," the staff member says.

The swimmer climbs out and sits perched on the edge of the fish tank looking at the staffer for a moment before making a run for it.

No fish were hurt in the incident, the hotel's sales and marketing director told.

"However, it was a careless act and dangerous for all involved, including the fish," she said.

The hotel is reportedly investigating its security after the incident.

Pretty typical for a tank that size. All the filtration and tubes and all in the cabinet at the bottom. Although, usually a tank that size is built into a wall with lighting.
