21.09.2026 - Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, has passed away at the age of 27 following a long battle with drug addiction and mental health problems. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Presley died at a rehab facility on Sunday. The cause of death has not been revealed. Presley had been open about his years-long struggles through candid posts on social media, with his death coming just weeks after his younger sister also spoke up about them.

Kaia Gerber recently opened up about how her brother’s struggles had affected their family, admitting that they had taken their toll on ‘everyone’. The 24-year-old told Vogue: ‘When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone.' Presley had initially followed in his mother’s footsteps as he started modeling at age 15, featuring in campaigns for fashion labels such as Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein. After being signed to IMG models, Presley also appeared in a 2018 Pepsi ad with Cindy.

It was known that Presley struggled with mental health problems from a young age and was arrested for driving under the influence in 2019. In November, he shared on social media that he had removed himself from the platform to ‘take care of my own mental health for a bit’. A month later, Presley opened up about his personal life in a series of candid Instagram videos called ‘Mental Health Mondays’. In one post, he listed off the medication he took for ‘night terrors’ and ‘panic attacks’. Presley said: ‘I feel like honesty is the best policy,’ he began before sharing that he was on 1mg of Buprenorphine – used to treat both pain and opioid use disorders – twice a day.’

He had also remarked his use of benzodiazepines had been ‘fluctuating up and down depending on what’s been going on in my life’. According to the Cleveland Clinic, benzodiazepines help ‘slow down activity in your brain and nervous system’ to treat ‘anxiety and related mental health conditions’. At the time, Presley shared: ‘Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now.’ He also went on to explain that he also would take a dose of Xanax at night or when his ‘panic attacks are really, really bad’.

Last month, Kaia described her brother’s honesty and openness as ‘refreshing’ and praised him for speaking about his struggles. She noted: ‘My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything – and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, “I’m gonna be very human for everyone”. There’s only so much you can hide from the world.’
