We wouldn't go to war with China over this. If the situation escalates I can see our relationship with China taking a turn towards changing military strategies in the region. But not actually fighting.

The cold war has already started round two. There's just more players this time.

I think that China will eventually quietly morph into a totally Capitalist/Democratic country...eventually...it's just going to take while. Look how far they've come from the height of Mao's rule...I don't see a lot of little red books anymore.
