CBS News' Logan Recovering After Brutal Attack
The Associated Press Tue Feb 15, 2011 New York (AP) - CBS News correspondent Lara Logan was recovering in a U.S. hospital Tuesday from a sexual attack and beating she suffered while reporting on the tumultuous events in Cairo. Logan was in the city's Tahrir Square on Friday after Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down when she, her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration, CBS said in a statement Tuesday. Seperated from her crew in the crush of the violent pack, she suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assualt and beating. She was saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team and returned to the U. S. on Saturday. · |

I am so glad she is out of harms way. I will not say that she is OK, but that she is at least out of danger. She is one of my favourite correspondents. wish there were something that I could do. She has a lot to get through. best of wishes to her. |

Re: CBS News' Logan Recovering After Brutal Attack
Well now shes got an even bigger story to tell. Journalists seem to thing they have amnesty wherever they travel and they often put themselves in difficult situations and believe that since they are just journalists nothing will happen to them It sucks to hear about the sexual assault, but im sure shes going to have an hour long program about her story when she gets back |

Re: CBS News' Logan Recovering After Brutal Attack
Journalists know when they go to these places exactly what they sign up for. she suffered, and if she can get something good for herself out of it, then sobeit. People forget, you get what you pay for AND you pay for what you do.....works both ways....Journalists know that. Good for her if she gets something positive out of it. |
