Re: Cats Killing Billions of Animals in the US

Due to the nature of cats being very independent animals, I think it's fairly cruel to keep them locked up. If you're going to own a cat though you should at least make sure that it's neutered and has a bell on it's collar. My cat has been neutered and is fitted with a bell but she still brings in birds or mice now and then. I think reducing the impact is a fair point but there's no way you'll ever stop a cat killing entirely, short of keeping it locked up. It's nature, cat's kill and they always will, and people are always going to own cats. As for the pooping in other people's gardens and stuff, luckily my cat seems to only do it in holes she digs in our own garden, but I know most cats will just do it anywhere.
Were I to let my cat out of the apartment, he would run into stray cats and other wild animals, such as squirrels, that could have any number of diseases. He might be up for a fight, but he could very easily get a disease or severe injury. He will stay indoors as long as I can help it.

Don't kill stray cats. How do you know the cat doesnt belong to someone?
In Sacramento my neighbor fed over 30 stray cats. Which one did she own? Did she care that the crap around the condo was piled up inches deep in some areas? Did the owners care that thier dogs crap was also piled around the property? You could smell that stuff everywhere. Animal control refused to address the issue.

They kill for fun not just for food which is a problem. I have seen them roam around in our parks at a distance but they are very good at avoiding humans and actually pretty hard to hunt when they have gone to the wild. Put a bounty on them and that will take care of the ones in the wild and probably the ones roaming out in your yard...

I seem to be the only person who lives in my apartment building who cleans up after their dogs. It always smells like dog feces everywhere. Dogs like to sniff other dogs' feces and I don't want my dogs poking around some other dogs mess. And I certainly don't want to step in it. It's everywhere!

Re: Cats Killing Billions of Animals in the US

People who let cats roam around should be banned from owning animals. Fucking retards, I my old area we had a huge fox population, they would eat everyones cats. Then people complained their cats were being eaten by foxes so the city got rid of the foxes... Pissed me the fuck off to no end.

Re: Cats Killing Billions of Animals in the US

I really want to take a rifle to every cat I see roaming but I feel bad because I know its someone's pet. This isn't an issue at my house up north where the big predators/ birds of prey take care of all the roaming cats.

This is a huge problem and cat owners are fucking retarded trying to defend this issue.

Re: Cats Killing Billions of Animals in the US

People around here use to dump cats out right near us, we use to have a big barn lot with chickens, goats, geese etc. We ended up with 20-30 barn cats that technically weren't ours but we sure as hell weren't going to let them starve. it took us awhile, but we rounded up all the females and sent them to the vet, then the males. we figured the females would need to be fixed first due to the fact they were the ones dropping babies. Whats left of those generations of cats are now in the house, all fixed and several years old. no more barn cats running around here. our neighbor decided to throw her cat out a few weeks ago though.

Re: Cats Killing Billions of Animals in the US

I had my cat neutered, stays inside most of the time, his front claws have been removed, wears a collar with a bell....but he still manages to kill moles. He is too fat to catch birds thankfully. Cats are natures perfect predators.

Maybe walking it into shops and restaurants just to show that there is far too much dog shit on the streets of Paris
