A Florida man is now just dreaming of freedom in the county jail after he fell asleep while being chased by deputies and a K-9 unit that heard his "very loud snoring".

Kevin Lee Barbour, 37, of Pensacola was being held in the Santa Rosa County jail on $11,500 bond, reduced from $16,500, on four counts including grand theft auto and resisting an officer.

He was arrested late Sunday after a pursuit that began when he jumped out of the stolen car he was driving and fled into a nearby neighborhood in the town of Milton.

Barbour managed to elude deputies, so they brought in a K-9 unit to track him down. "While on track, Deputies heard a noise which was described as 'Very Loud Snoring' coming from under a trailer," according to the sheriff's office. "It was discovered the noise was coming from the suspect who was sleeping heavily while concealed under the trailer.

"The suspect was disrupted from his nap and taken into custody," the sheriff's office said. Barbour was arraigned Monday and was scheduled for a hearing Feb. 26 in state Circuit Court.
