Re: Car Ploughs Through Croud of Football Fans in Liverpool City Center
Yeah looks like a fight/flight response to me, people smashing his car up and he panicked and tried to get out of there and ended up making things 100X worse.

Re: Car Ploughs Through Croud of Football Fans in Liverpool City Center
A Ford Galaxy, driven by 53-year-old Paul Doyle, a former Royal Marine, plowed into a crowd of fans on Water Street, injuring 79 people, including four children. Seven victims still remain hospitalized, with four in critical condition. Doyle, a married father of three from the Liverpool area, faces seven charges, including dangerous driving, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, and two counts of unlawful wounding with intent. He appeared in Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on May 30. He held back tears in court as he was accused of driving into Liverpool football fans. He has a plea hearing scheduled for August and a provisional trial date set for November 24, 2025. The incident is not being treated as terrorism, and police believe Doyle acted alone, possibly under the influence of drugs, as he was also charged with drug driving. The car reportedly followed an ambulance through a temporarily lifted roadblock, leading to the collision about one mile from the parade’s endpoint. |

He was initially held on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, but the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed he was not charged with any drug-related offenses.
