Canada Slaps New Sanctions on Russia Oil Sector Over Ukraine
This 13th round of sanctions in collaboration with allies comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin showed no willingness to change tack on Ukraine. Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird insisted, however, that the West's stiffening sanctions are working. "There is no doubt that collectively the sanctions have been effective," Baird told a press conference, vowing more will follow. The new travel bans impact mostly members of the Russian State Duma, the Russian lower house of parliament, and ministers of the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic in eastern Ukraine. Back in 09 it was around 60c/litre for a while...... Oil bottomed out around $30 a barrel or so.

Back in 99 it was $1/gal or $0.27/L.. But with inflation it's about $1.65 in todays money. It's expected to get down almost to $2/g. |
