I recently watched a very powerful documentary on netflix "How to die in Oregon" which is about the first law in the US to allow physicians to prescribe lethal doses of drugs to the terminally ill. You get a look into the lives of these people and even one as he takes the drug and passes away. Highly recommended if you're interested in this topic.

The HBO Kevorkian biopic You Don't Know Jack should be required viewing regarding death-with-dignity. Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman are excellent in this.
