The girl at my niece's school with the long braids, is black, but, the kids there haven't been taught racism.

My great niece wanted African American hair so she could have cool hair styles. That's how an 8-9 year old sees it in her school.

Children are open to differences and usually embrace them until they are taught otherwise.
