Re: British Government Bans Creationism Yeah, Religious beliefs and faith should only be permitted in churches, denomination schools, etc as you cannot ban elements of their faith. |

Re: British Government Bans Creationism We used to get RE (religious education) and I enjoyed it at school. Wonder if it's still taught? |

Re: British Government Bans Creationism Do people who revere the Bible ever read it? The God of the Old Testament was an infantile, genocidal psychopath. The God of the New -- if he existed at all -- was simply one more messiah in a society that was chock-a-block full of them. Further, by the time he came along you had to perform miracles and arise from the dead just to get into the Gods' Bowling League. There were scores of man/god/redeemers who beat him to it over the preceding 2,000 years or so. I might add that morality is not an abstract or ideal handed down to us from some "supernatural" source. It is a human construct. It begins with the observation that if you don't try to kill me, and I don't try to kill you, our lives will be more pleasant. |

Re: British Government Bans Creationism Having been educated in a strict Christian school, in which being taught to love Jesus was deemed more important than an actual solid education, I can honestly say that as an ATHEIST, science should always take precedence over religion. |
