LONDON — Military jets in the United Kingdom have escorted a passenger plane into Manchester Airport amid information given by the pilot to authorities that the plane may have a "device" on board. It is not clear if the threat is a genuine one.
The plane has landed. Air traffic into and out of the airport has been halted while the possible threat is investigated.

"At this time I would urge them not to be alarmed," Manchester Police Chief Superintendent John O'Hare said in a statement. "Our response will be as comprehensive as it is proportionate with the safety of those on board and in and around the airport our paramount concern."

Apparently it was a hoax by someone on board. They have been taken in to custody. Probably a nut job or someone drunk as fuck on free drinks and pissed off with life. All flights were postponed but things are apparently getting back to normality.
