Re: British Band Plunge to Death
Probably combination of both. Either way, if the warning lights were not working, five families are about to score some serious compensation from the city for not maintaining their warning systems appropriately... |

Re: British Band Plunge to Death
From what I've heard and read here in Sweden the warning lights worked and also, there was a long traffic jam which they drove right past. Anyway, my condolences to their families. A very tragic accident. |

Re: British Band Plunge to Death
Rumours from the autopsy says that they were probably already dead when hitting the water because of the impact with the bridge.

Re: British Band Plunge to Death
They weren't drunk or drugged. The car continued to drive past a queue, through a barrier and into the bridge as it raised up. The underside of the bridge caught the front roof of the car and probably killed the 2 in the front. The car then fell into the river, rear first, maybe killing the 2 in the rear. Or they drowned. Only explanation to me is the throttle was stuck, although I can't see that happening on a new Nissan Qashqai. All in all it was a bit strange. I noticed that the UK media also Photoshopped barriers into different places on the aerial view of the road. (I live 100 metres from the bridge and drove over it every day to work)
