Body of Nurse Sent 230 miles Through Post in Box Marked 'doll'
Police in Tokyo have launched a murder investigation after Rika Okada's body was found in a storage lock-up
The body of a woman was sent 230miles through the post in a box marked 'doll', police in Tokyo have said.
A murder investigation is underway after the body of Rika Okada, who had been missing since late March, was found in a storage lock-up.
The 29-year-old nurse was found in a two-metre box with a number of stab wounds.
None of them were defensive, suggesting the injuries were inflicted after death, according to local reports.
The company which delivered the package from the southern city of Osaka to the capital said it had been paid by Ms Okada.
Her credit card had also been used to pay for the short term rental of the lock-up.
Local media report that a woman used Ms Okada's passport to leave the country earlier this month.
Ms Okada had posted on Facebook about meeting up with an old friend shortly before she went missing.
Fair warning to those who want to Google more info about Ms. Okada: apparently she shares her name with a porn star.
