Re: The Biggest Gang in America is Above the Law

I don't know all the rules of it. I just know that's what he was being arrested for. And has been arrested like 6 previous times for.

New York has a high cigarette tax, and from what I gather New York enforces the cigarette tax vigorously. They have to pay for all those public Union pensions somehow.
It's still sad to think someone died over such a petty thing, the guy had kids.

It is sad. But he decided he was going to take a stand against police. People want to say police aren't judge, jury, and executioner. Watching the video it seems as though Garner decided he was going to be his own cop, Judge, and jury.

He said, "this ends today". To me, those are words saying he's not going to jail without a fight.

When you posted, "It is sad." I was okay leaving it at that, but I'll respond to the edit you made to that post.

Garner with his hands in the air had the officer approach from behind and put him in a rnc. He was relatively resistant but not physically until he was getting an illegal restraint procedure put on him. You're still allowed to question what and why an officer is arresting you, unless the first amendment somehow vanished.

I know you have a boner for hating John Stewart, but give this a watch..
Watch the entire video. Cops explained why he was being arrested. And he was given a chance to plead his case. But in the end everyone has to put their hands behind their back when they are being arrested. Or you will be forced too.

I agree with you I think, that the cops were pretty forceful. I just disagree with much of the media that this was a race issue.

Turning this into a race issue is just plain stupid.. It's obviously a police force issue.
