Bedford Massacre: Family Murdered in Perth, Australia
Three sisters, their mother and grandmother found dead in suburban Perth home. The young father accused of killing his three children, his partner and the girls’ grandmother lived in the Perth house with the bodies for several days, police have reported. Anthony Robert Harvey, 24, allegedly murdered the mother of his children Mara Quinn, 41, daughters Charlotte, 3, and twins Alice and Beatrix, 2, on Monday last week before killing Mara’s mother Beverley Quinn, 74, when she turned up to the Bedford home on Tuesday. Harvey attended a rural police station on Sunday where he spoke to police after which investigators raced to the home and made the grisly discovery. He was charged with five counts of murder today and briefly appeared in court, he did not enter a plea and will reappear next week. WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said a blunt instrument and knives were used to kill the family. “We’re not alleging that any firearm was used. We’re alleging that several weapons were used,” he said. Taryn Quinn, Mara’s sister and Beverly’s daughter, released a statement thanking the community for their support. "There are no words to explain the emptiness and loss that we are feeling. Beverley was a kind hearted, caring mother and grandmother and was always there for her family. She loved her daughters and grandchildren, and would have done anything for them,” she said. “Mara loved being a mum and she loved her girls. She was so proud of each of them and was doing a great job of raising them Her girls were her world". “Charlotte was an energetic, bubbly confident little girl who loved people. Alice was outgoing, adventurous and cheeky, while Beatrix gave the biggest hugs". “This world is a sadder place with the loss of these five beautiful people but Heaven has gained five new angels.” The couple ran a lawn mowing business together which Mr Harvey had told a neighbour was struggling. It is understood Ms Quinn and Mr Harvey met while working for a catering company on the Sino Iron mine at Cape Preston near the Pannawonica police station where Mr Harvey turned himself in. Ms Quinn was Mr Harvey’s manager at the mine where they both worked as cleaners. They relocated to Perth and started the lawn mowing business, were engaged in 2014 and had their first daughter Charlotte in 2015. Janelle Dorant said she had met Ms Quinn while working at Karratha. “She was always happy and very nurturing when she fell pregnant. She didn’t have a partner, but then it just all seemed to fall into place,” she said. Desrae Cambos told 'Perth Now' the family, which seemed close-knit, had lived at the house for about four years with the father running a lawn-mowing and landscaping business. Mrs Cambos said she had assumed the family had gone away on holiday because she had not seen the father’s ute parked in the driveway since last week. A distraught neighbour told WA Todaythat she often saw children playing in the front yard of the house. “How could someone do that to their own children? It’s sickening to think someone could do that.” Another neighbour told WA Today she didn’t know the home’s occupants personally, but would often wave and say hello as she walked past. “It’s taken us by complete shock,” she said. “It’s just horrific on every level.” Neighbour Vagner de Souza told the ABC he regularly saw a family in the house’s yard. “Just a normal family, you would never imagine anything like that happening,” he said. The incident comes just months after seven people were found dead at Margaret River. A mother, her four children and two grandparents were the victims of a mass shooting on a rural property in Osmington, in the state’s South West. The deaths of Katrina Miles, her parents Cynda and Peter Miles, who owned the property, and her four children has been described as Australia’s worst mass shooting since the Port Arthur massacre. Two firearms were found at the Osmington address in what has been determined to be a murder-suicide. In another incident in July, a mother and her two children were killed in Ellenbrook. *Thanks to Dahlia_Neda for her help. |

And that's enough to kill everyone he cared about? Like that will solve his problems. Maybe he was getting stressed and depressed and you never know what depressed people are capable of doing next.

It does appear a little over the top. I understand the mundane crappiness of having to drag yourself into work even if you're feeling a bit ill because you're the main breadwinner, but waking up one day and thinking 'actually, that sucks a bit too much, I think i'll just kill my family' seems a bit of a leap. He was probably dealing with a whole load of other issues and just snapped. Sad story |

He's half her age and had 3 kids with only a year between them. Maybe it was a relationship he didn't want to be in to begin with but felt obligated to stay once he got her knocked up. More likely that it started as a drunken one night stand. That's still absolutely no excuse to do what he did though and they should peel his balls off layer by layer, fry them up like crisps and feed them to him
