Baton Rouge Man Arrested After Lighting Wife on Fire During Argument
Baton Rouge police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man who allegedly used hairspray to light his wife on fire during an argument back in September, leaving the woman with second- and third-degree burns. John Emmett Harleaux began spraying his wife with hairspray during a Sept. 24 argument at their home, a Baton Rouge police report says. When the woman called her mother, Harleaux pulled out a lighter and lit the flammable hairspray on fire. The woman suffered second- and third-degree burns on her left arm, shoulder and back as a result of the attack, the report says. Harleaux was booked into Parish Prison on a felony count of domestic abuse battery by burning.
