Police say a 3 month old Florida girl suffocated to death while her, "mom," was out clubbing.

The Ocala Police Department responded to a report of an infant not breathing at 2:39 a.m. on March 26.

An officer on the scene administered CPR on the baby girl until Emergency Medical Services arrived, but the infant was pronounced dead shortly after, authorities said.

In the initial report of the incident, the infant’s mother, Tyecka Evans, told officers that she had fallen asleep on the couch while the 3 month old was sleeping on a blanket and boppy pillow on the floor, a police news release states.

Evans allegedly told police that when she awoke, the baby was lying face down with her face in a plastic shopping bag, according to the news release.

However, detectives now say Evans was not even at the apartment when her daughter suffocated.

In addition to receiving tips from the public alleging that Evans had left her children alone to go out to a club, video surveillance of the apartment complex shows Evans, her sister, and her sister’s boyfriend arriving at the apartment at 2:36 a.m., police said.

Evans, 28, later admitted to leaving the apartment at 1 a.m. to go to a club with her sister, according to the news release.

She was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated manslaughter.

Evans was released from custody after posting $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 5.

She has not yet retained an attorney, according to court officials.
