The world is a terrible place.

I was watching my 20 month old nephew playing with the 15 month old triplets next door today and thinking how happy they were and all the terrible, heinous things people do to babies.

I worry constantly about my 18 year old niece taking public transportation to school 4 days a week.

I know we had crazies when I was in school, but, I think there are more wackos and predators out there today. I really do.

When I was in elementary school, the bigger kids made sure we got home safely. We had older twins at the corner of our street.

ok- i understand he forgot the baby at work. i will try to understand that not once during the day did he remember. but to say he got back in the car & drove to the daycare with her in the carseat & did not notice until the lil boy found her- i have to call bulls*it!! he saw her & drove in stunned silence on to the daycare because he knew he messed up & did not know how to handle it. u can't get it your car & drive w/out once looking in the back seat or in the rearview mirror. Even more so if something out of the ordinary is there- say like your dead child in a carseat!!

I always look in the back and front of my car before I get in and I use all three of my mirrors.

How could you not think of your babies even if you are at work?

what a load of bull s... how could u forget about your child in the back????? i bet he doesnt forget to wipe his ass or have lunch! im a father and if you can forget about your kids then you shouldnt really have them

raised four children, cared for countless others beginning at the age of 12. never forgot or left one anywhere. and i was actually a meth addict off and on for nine years, something i am not proud of. sorry, i just don't see how you can forget you have a baby. i don't even forget i have a dog for criminey's sake and he is more quiet.

This is so sad. I'm just having a hard time grasping that he got in the car after work and still didnt notice the baby. Perhaps he did see his child and panicked. Such a sad event really =(

I'm kind of forgetful, and I was always paranoid of doing that. It's probably why I'd check myself repeatedly. My kids are grown now. Now babysitting the grandkids makes me paranoid..LOL

I worry when I watch my great niece and nephew, but, she can dial a cell phone and knows what to do if I were to have any medical issues.
