I'm kind of forgetful, and I was always paranoid of doing that. It's probably why I'd check myself repeatedly. My kids are grown now. Now babysitting the grandkids makes me paranoid..LOL  |

ok- i understand he forgot the baby at work. i will try to understand that not once during the day did he remember. but to say he got back in the car & drove to the daycare with her in the carseat & did not notice until the lil boy found her- i have to call bulls*it!! he saw her & drove in stunned silence on to the daycare because he knew he messed up & did not know how to handle it. u can't get it your car & drive w/out once looking in the back seat or in the rearview mirror. Even more so if something out of the ordinary is there- say like your dead child in a carseat!!  |

Forgetting to take your baby to the daycare should not be an excuse for child neglect... If you have a child and you can't take care of them and let this happen? chances are you have some skewed priorities. This was probably a father that focused too much on work and not enough on family. |

i'm sorry. i just don't buy it. people don't forget their babies. SON OF A BITCH WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A LIVING BREATHING MOVING CHILD HERE! you don't just walk off and leave one in the car. i don't care if they are asleep. you have to be one sorry bastard. he should be charged. must have something to do with his skin color, his financial status, or his neighborhood that let him get away with it. |

I think living the rest of your life knowing you accidentally killed someone close to you is far worse than jail time. I'm sure if he could serve 10 years in jail to get his daughter back, he would.

I can definitely see how this could happen. I know I go into auto pilot all the time. Driving from school to home and vice versa. When I get to my destination I remember 'oh, crap, I was gonna stop at such and such a place to do something or other'. This is another reason why I'm afraid to have kids. I'm so forgetful. I could never live with myself if I forgot a child in my car and the child died as a result. This poor father must think about it every day and hate himself for it. It was a terrible accident. As far as who ever said he would have seen the baby when he got in the car to pick up his son, since the baby was probably in a rear-facing car seat, he wouldn't have been able to see if a baby was in it or not unless he really checked.
