Two children now aged 17 and 14 who went missing in the Austrian province of Styria nine years ago have been found in Paraguay, South America.

The siblings, a brother and sister then aged 8 and 4 were abducted by their father in Graz leaving the desperate mother looking for her children for nine years.

The couple had split and the father had been given visitation rights.

During one of these visits in 2004 the children disappeared without trace together with the father.

The children were traced after the father was killed in a motorbike crash and police began investigations. During the investigations they traced the children and found they were the children who had disappeared nine years ago.

The Austrian Foreign Ministry confirmed the identity of the children and Martin Weiss said: "We are working with the mother to find what the best solution is for the children.

"Of course the mother was overjoyed to find the whereabouts of her children"

The children who are both Austrian citizens are now aged 17 and 14 and have had no contact with their mother for nine years who has since moved from Styria, Austria back to her native Hungary

I am having trouble with the word traced. It makes it seem like they were hard to find. I might be confused over nothing.
