Memphis, Tennessee. Mother and Aunt leave two children, aged 2 and 3 at home alone while they 'go and dropped this DUDE off, you know he had just cut the grass and we went and dropped him off at home' (leaving 2-year old Catareon Dunn and 3-year old Ladareon Dunn at home alone)

A fire broke out, and when neighbours heard screams they ran to the back door to help, but the smoke pushed them back. One witness states the babies looked like 'ragdolls, with their arms and legs just hanging down' when fire officals brought them out of the home.

The aunt tells 'Quita was calling me saying 'the house is on fire, the house is on fire. And so we was hurry up to get here'

One neighbour reported 'it was really hurtful to hear them in there hollering, but I wasn't for sure if it was the kids (maybe radio or TV) so when they pulled them out, it just hurt my heart' that I couldn't get to them. Apparently much more concerned about their well being than their aunt who left with the mother, leaving the boys at home alone, who said she has NO REGRETS about leaving the boys home alone:

When asked if she felt any regret for leaving them at home alone.
She replied with a short and quick 'NO!' Then after hesitating for a few seconds, and apparently feeling the need to Qualify her statement, she continues with:

I mean I really don't because I mean if they had been there by theyself, I mean I don't know HOW the house caught on fire, I don't know if the boys sat it on fire, or somebody throwed something in there to set it on fire. I really need to get in there to see did my purse burned up. (laughs) cause I had my Food Stamp Card and everything in there.
