You Won't Believe What One Company Is Doing To People's Ashes After They Die October 19, 2014 by Daniel Kummerer The Swiss company, Algordanza, has come up with a unique way for you to memorialize your loved one - turn their cremated remains into a diamond. In order to create the diamond, carbon is extracted from the deceased's ashes. The carbon is converted into graphite, which is then heated to 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit and put under 870,000 pounds of pressure per square inch. The finished product looks something like this photo 3. The color can range from white to dark blue, depending on the boron levels of the ashes. As you can imagine, the process is expensive. It starts at about $4,500 USD. But, it might be worth it. You can wear the diamond and have your loved one with you wherever you go. Or you can cherish the diamond, and have a beautiful reminder of your loved one. One man turned his grandmother's remains into a diamond, and took her on a trip across the United States. 1) dig up corpse of really famous person 2) burn them 3) get ashes turned into diamonds 4) sell them over the internet to crazy fans for a lot of money 5) retire Ok, I'll go and get my shovel. |

This is the first I heard of it. I keep some of my dad's ashes in my car and I swear he protects me.  It would be cool to see what shades different people get. |

My idea is to have my ashes mixed with whoever wants it when I die. Now to exist within the same diamond is interesting.
