Antiques Roadshow Highest Value Collection Ever Appraised

On Sunday, appraisers from the PBS hit show "Antiques Roadshow" recorded the highest-value collection ever appraised in the show's 15-year history.

The big ticket item: five Chinese carved rhinoceros-horn cups dating to the late 17th or early 18th century, which are worth between $1 and $1.5 million. An Oklahoma resident bought the cups inexpensively in the 1970s, according to a press release from the show's producers. The reason the value of the cups is so high is due to China's growing demand for Chinese antiquities.

The episode will air as part of "Antiques Roadshow's" 16th season in 2012.

What about the faces of some of the people on Antiques Roadshow, they're told something is worth thousands of pounds and they don't even crack a smile........and that old biddy that bought the 200 year old bible in that was falling apart. They told her it was worthless and if you listened closely you would have heard the HMMMP sound she made when hearing it was more useless and unwanted than 80 grit shithouse paper.

My favorite guy on Roadshow is the one appraiser that has glasses and almost always wear hawaiian shirts. the guy that appraises the toys and posters. you know who I mean.

Re: Antiques Roadshow Highest Value Collection Ever Appraised

""i call bullshit""..antiques roadshow is more than fucked up.....they get the "broke/poor folks hopes up"....its sad to see the hope in the eyes of the of the folks getting stuff appraised......i think its bullshit to tell an 90 year old lady that her ceramic pot is worth 500 thousand $...........a pile of platinum plated dog shit may be worth a million +.."but" finding a dumbass to pay "fair market value is hard to find" .......fuck the fake ass roadshow
