Re: Another Fatal Subway Push in New York; Video Shows Woman Fleeing
I am impressed! Great memory! How weird! Yesterday was the anniversary of her death! They are now trying to pass some kind of law named after her. The murderer got 23 years in Riker's Mental Facility. NOT enough! Goldstein sought help, but, ended up on the streets supposedly. The story, if anyone wants to watch: http://servv89pn0aj.sn.sourcedns.com...ubway_kill.htm Woman Killed in a Subway Station Attack By AMY WALDMAN Published: January 04, 1999 In what the police said appeared to be an act of random violence, a woman was killed yesterday when a man pushed her in front of an oncoming subway train as it entered a station in midtown, the police said. A Queens man was detained by other passengers who witnessed the horrifying scene at the 23d Street station of the N and R lines at about 5:30 P.M. said Sgt. Cory Cuneo, a Police Department spokesman. The suspect, Andrew Goldstein, 29, of Howard Beach, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after being questioned by the police for several hours, Sergeant Cuneo said. The police also were interviewing witnesses. Sergeant Cuneo said the woman, Kendra Webdale, whose identity was not released at that time, was standing on the platform when the suspect, without warning, approached her from behind and pushed her onto the tracks as a northbound train entered the station. While witnesses detained the man, someone ran up to the street at 23d Street and Broadway to flag down the police, Sergeant Cuneo said. |
