The giraffe repeatedly kicked out at the jeep during the frightening incident in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, as seen in dramatic images was captured by cameraman Rainer Schimpf.
Chasing the vehicle for two miles, the two-and-a-half tonne 13-ft male caused minor damage to the jeep's front bumper.
Some have said the footage is reminiscent of the famous T-rex scene in Steven Spielberg's 90s blockbuster Jurassic Park, yet on closer comparison the claims do not appear to have any legs.
It is believed that the giraffe may have been sent into a rage due to a hormone imbalance.
