American Woman Brutally Attacked in the Dominican Republic
In January 2019, 51 year old Tammy Lawrence-Daley from Delaware (USA) was staying at a resort in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) with her husband, Christopher.  Tammy, a mother of 2, was attacked by an employee at the resort. She spent 5 days in the hospital + had to have surgery. Though it's now May, she's still recovering from the attack.    The attack occurred on the 2nd day of her stay. At around 10.30pm, she left her room to have something to eat + then onto the beach to take photos of the moon. She told Christopher that she would be back shortly but 8 hours later, she hadn't returned. Here in a FB post, she describes her ordeal:  Press statement:  Press statement translated:

i read google reviews about this hotel and this was a good resort but in the last year they are facing a staffing problem and complaints start to flood in, especially about the rudeness of a barman and other staff. For a start they should install cams around the place so visitors feel more safe as it takes only one crazy nutter to cause nightmares like she experienced.  |

I'm not saying she was 'asking for it', but what was she thinking going out alone late at night to take photo's? Don't they have a moon in Delaware? I'm sure she was tipsy, and this clouded her judgment. However, her old man only noticing that she had not returned 8 hours later? There's more than this than meets the eye.    |

I don’t think cameras should lull you into a false sense of security. If the offender is someone in management or protected by someone high up, those cameras will not help you. |
