Re: Almost 650 Children Reported Missing in Manchester in 2014
Every so often, on a slow news day, the media here gets their collective panties in a wad over the whole missing children thing. When closely (and rationally) examined it's usually a numbers or tracking mistake. The numbers in this case sound suspiciously high...you can probably assume there are reporting mistakes, classification errors, mathematical goofs, double counting of calls/reports, news media inflation of numbers, etc. In this case it looks kinda like someone has an agenda their pushing.

what 30564U said..... plus they would be counting every child who was reported missing by their parents but had actually just stayed at a friends house for example..... sensationalist bullshit... probably trying to distract peoples attention from something else that's far more important and shady up those parts... |

Re: Almost 650 Children Reported Missing in Manchester in 2014
For example, the anti-gun folks are always touting these really high childrens gun death numbers. What they don't tell you is how they arrived at these numbers...they count children gun deaths by counting confirmed suicides and officer involved shootings of young bad guys, and they count "children" as anyone up to twenty-one years old. Statistical game playing.
