Re: Alligator Grabs Toddler, Drags Him into Lagoon at Disney Hotel, Police Say
Wait, now they're saying the kid was IN THE WATER?? Before, they were saying that they were walking next to the water. If they were letting their child play in the water in Florida, that's no better than knowingly letting that child play in the middle of the highway. Accidents happen and mistakes are made, but when there's a lack of common sense, disaster is bound to happen. |

He was paddling, they were tourists from Nebraska, they probably had no idea of the potential danger. You're in Disney world, you don't expect a danger like that. All the lambasting of the poor parents is a little harsh. Their baby just got eaten by an alligator, it's not like they weren't supervising him. I can't imagine their pain. |

Well I wouldn't know there was such a threat. I never particularly fancied the whole Disney world thing but I like the idea even less now. Nice hotel with man eating alligators in the lagoon... |

This is awful. That poor baby and family. I hate to ask but did someone outside the family witness this? The only thing I can find online is that two families 'may' have witnessed it and have to be interviewed by police.

No swimming means no swimming. A beware of gators sign would be nice, but there were signs stating specifically to stay out of the water. I'm in California and have never run into an alligator, but I know their natural habitat and how to avoid them. People on vacation/tourists are a strange breed. They get this false sense of security that nothing bad can happen to them. Such a strange phenomenon. I do feel sympathy for the family, though. |

Now watch as human greed takes over and Disney counter sues the parents for loss of revenue due to their parenting negligence. |
