Re: Air Force Officer In Charge Of Sexual Assault Prevention Arrested For Sexual Assault
this is what happens when men are the ones put in charge of handling sexual assault cases. where are the women? men are the perpetrators in almost every rape, so why are they being given the power to make decisions?

Re: Air Force Officer In Charge Of Sexual Assault Prevention Arrested For Sexual Assault
lol, I'm not assuming anything. it IS a fact that in most sexual assaults, the perpetrator is a man. putting men in charge of prevention and prosecution of sexual assault (especially in the military, a hypermasculine environment rife with sexual assault, including in larger numbers against men than in the civilian world) is like putting a cat in charge of guarding the mice. it's just asking for trouble, and it smacks of letting male politicians tell women what birth control we can and can't have. women in the military are raped by their fellow male soldiers in astonishing numbers, and the cases are consistently swept under the rug by the usually all-male higher ups. these women deserve to be safe, and it has become obvious that military men are not at all concerned with the safety of military women. let the women handle these things and watch how quickly shit changes. |
