"Hate cleric Abu Hamza’s hook hand to be replaced with a ‘spork’

Hate cleric Abu Hamza, who is facing 11 terror charges in the United States, will be fitted with a “spork” hand after prison officials confiscated his prosthetic hook because of the security risk.

Mr. Hamza, an Egyptian, lost his hand and an eye in an explosion in Afghanistan. He was imprisoned in the United Kingdom and was extradited to the United States in October. He faces charges for supporting al Qaeda, aiding a kidnapping in Yemen and plotting to open a training camp for militants in the United States.

“We’ve been trying for five months now to get our client a better prosthetic limb but they keep changing the time lines,” his lawyer, Lindsay Lewis, told The Sun. “It’s very frustrating for him. He finds it hard to eat, use the bathroom and even turn on the hot and cold taps.”

His team also demanded that the suspected terrorist be provided a laptop so he can work on his defense from jail.

Mr. Hamza has pleaded not guilty to all 11 charges. He is scheduled to go on trial in New York next year and faces life imprisonment"
