It goes way deeper than that. He was mentally ill and was struggling with substance abuse as well. You can't judge someone based on the fact that he had a helping hand getting into show business. That doesn't negate the fact that he had severe mental illness and needed serious help. Child stars (both actors and singers) usually have a downfall when they get older. There's an obvious pattern there. |

He more than likely was. Look how many sexual predators have been outed in Hollywood with crimes against women. There are surely many more sickos in the movie/music industries that have abused men/boys too.

For some reason I still remember his minor hit single "Crazy Little Party Girl" On a more serious note, the entertainment industry is rotten. Carter had his personal problems, that's for sure, but no doubt they were only exacerbated by being in the business. Music and movies are meant to be sources of enjoyment so it's both ironic and sad that it is the very people working in these fields whose souls get destroyed so often. |
