I have two dogs.. One I would not trust alone with a baby though I think she would do just fine if I allowed her to sniff a baby while I held it. The other is a puppy and friendly but I'm uncertain if she's trustworthy.

I don't care how well trained a dog is. You don't leave it alone with a young child or a baby. Neither of those creatures is completely trustworthy. Putting them together in an unsupervised environment is a recipe for disaster.
