I read in another article that it wasn't the parents' gun, but someone else staying in the house(according to Mom).

That doesn't make sense, especially if the baby's crib was in that room. . . .

so i guess the dad was living with them and kept the loaded gun on a shelf built into the headboard of the master bed. so not like he says, inside a gun cabinet (which should be locked btw when kids are inside the home imo).

seems like a cold piece of shit to me and maybe he left it there on purpose to get rid of the noisy kids knowing they would sneak in there and find the loaded gun.

I agree with the first part of your statement but the age and amount of children is irrelevant.

I think she was cracking a joke as to why anyone would voluntarily bring that much stress into their lives. Some people can handle that many kids, but I know for me, that would be an anuerism waiting to happen.
